How to live like an enlightened person?
The five Tenets of Evolutionary Enlightenment, five fundamental laws that define the enlightened perspective and answer the question: "How to live like an enlightened person?" is what we spoke about in class 5. It was a night that felt like an earthquake to me, the five tenets make it possible to live an enlightened life, no matter what our inner experience is in any moment. The five tenets are not self-improvement tools, they do not change the state of ego-centrism into a better, more authentic state. Simpler said, they are not a way to get enlightened, they are a way to live one's inherent enlightenment. They are absolute rules or truths, and they only work if one starts with the absolute conviction one wants to succeed.
It is a tall order, it is clear that especially that step from a relative relationship to life, to one that is absolute, one-pointed and already victorious, (because we want to be free more than anything else in this world, so nothing could possibly take us down), is a big leap. Many people could see that in the light of everything we have been discovering, it is the only thing that deeply makes sense. This puts the ego in an impossible position and that was tangible last night, the ego does not want to be free, ever...and yet freedom and evolution are the only things that make a human life really worthwhile...
For five weeks there has been so much humour, lightness, friendship and trust, and last night was no exception. It was a joy to be together, and in that joy we all recognized the seriousness of the choice to be free...Faced with this life-choice we were, and are, all alone...
For me it was an extraordinary experience; it gave me a deeper sense of what spiritual teachers experience when they tell people about these things. I refused to make it all sound easy, I simply know it isn't. The spiritual life as I know it, is deeply fulfilling, ennobling, thrilling and miraculous, but it isn't easy. I felt I had to resist the temptation to make anyone feel better; the separate ego is never going to feel any better about the choice to loose it's supremacy over the individual, and we all knew that the authentic self doesn't need any encouragement, it is perfectly encouraged as it is...
These five classes opened up a lot and there are still so many questions that we decided to add another session next week to go into everything we still want to speak about. I'll keep you posted!

Help

Well, as a participant of the course I'd like to say this:
In these past weeks I have become more conscious than ever about the fact that my ego is strong, demanding, seducing and subtilly telling me what to do almost every moment of the day. To realize this and feel the struggle inside can be very exhausting.
But the call from the authentic self is much stronger! Wow, what if I listen to this call and take responsibility for it? I have to say that after years of self-reflection and now this EE course, it is finally not a question anymore! I will take responsibility for it all. That's my basic conviction of the moment. It is like something fell in its place (that's a Dutch saying). It is overwhelming and light at the same time.
